Pakistan Minister Honors Police Martyrs in Hangu Attack

ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi issued a strong condemnation on Wednesday following a deadly terrorist attack on a police checkpoint in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Hangu district, honoring the personnel who laid down their lives to repel the assault.

In an official statement, the minister declared that the brave policemen thwarted the nefarious designs of the Fitna al-Khawarij by sacrificing their precious lives. He paid glowing tribute to the martyred personnel and extended his heartfelt sympathy and condolences to the bereaved families.

Heroic Stand at Khazina Banda Checkpoint

The attack, which occurred late Tuesday, targeted the Khazina Banda checkpoint. According to a police spokesperson, officers mounted a fierce resistance during the operation against the heavily armed militants. In the intense exchange of fire, eight militants were killed.

Tragically, the engagement resulted in the martyrdom of eight police personnel. The fallen include Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Diyar Khan and seven other officers who fought valiantly to protect the post.

Minister Naqvi also prayed for the speedy recovery of the personnel injured in the line of duty. He emphasized that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police are on the front line in the war against terrorism, adding that the nation salutes their eternal sacrifices.
