Shocking Confession Unveils Global Pattern of Abuse
A 79-year-old man has been indicted and imprisoned for the aggravated rape and sexual assault of 89 minors, with crimes spanning 55 years from 1967 to 2022, the Grenoble prosecutor announced. During the investigation, the septuagenarian also confessed to the murders of his mother and aunt decades earlier.
USB Drive Reveals “15-Volume” Record of Crimes
The scale of the abuse was uncovered through a USB drive containing what the prosecutor described as “15 volumes” of detailed writings. The suspect documented what he referred to as “sexual relations” with victims aged 13 to 17. The USB drive was discovered by his nephew, who had become suspicious about his uncle’s personal life.
Prosecutor Étienne Manteaux stated the crimes occurred across nine countries where the man worked as an educator: Germany, Switzerland, Morocco, Niger, Algeria, the Philippines, India, Colombia, and New Caledonia. Authorities have issued a call for witnesses, urging any additional victims to come forward.
Confession of Double Homicide
During questioning, the man admitted to two previously unsolved murders. He confessed to suffocating his terminally ill mother with a pillow in the 1970s, and later using the same method to kill his 92-year-old aunt in the 1990s.
Ongoing Investigation Seeks Justice
The case represents one of the most extensive child abuse investigations in recent French judicial history. With the suspect now in custody since 2024, authorities continue to investigate the full scope of crimes committed across multiple continents over more than half a century.
