ISLAMABAD — Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has strongly condemned drone incursions into Pakistan from Afghanistan, describing the attacks as a grave violation of the country’s national sovereignty.
In a statement, Bilawal paid tribute to Pakistan’s armed forces for thwarting the attacks, saying security officials had successfully neutralized all eight drones before they could reach their intended targets.
Pakistan Responds to Launch Sites
According to Bilawal, Pakistan subsequently responded by targeting 10 locations inside Afghanistan that he said were used to launch and store the drones.
The PPP chairman called on the Afghan authorities to explain how attacks against Pakistan could be launched from Afghan territory, insisting that Kabul’s responsibility went beyond simply distancing itself from the incidents.
Calls for Accountability
Bilawal said the Afghan government must take concrete steps to prevent attacks originating from its territory and hold those responsible accountable.
