LONDON — Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in London after concluding a five-day official visit to the United States, where he addressed the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly and held a series of high-level meetings with world leaders.
The prime minister touched down at London’s Luton Airport, where Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Tipu Usman, received him upon arrival.
Two-Day Stay for Medical Examination
According to official sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz will remain in London for two days to undergo a medical check-up. He is expected to depart for Pakistan upon completing his stay and the scheduled medical examinations.
Key Engagements During US Visit
During his time in the United States, the prime minister delivered a comprehensive address at the United Nations General Assembly, where he underscored Pakistan’s contributions to international peace and security.
His address focused on several critical issues, including:
- Pakistan’s role in promoting global peace and stability
- The ongoing situation in the Middle East
- Efforts to facilitate conflict resolution through diplomatic mediation
On the sidelines of the UN session, Prime Minister Shehbaz held meetings with multiple world leaders to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.
Engagement with Overseas Pakistanis
The prime minister also attended a dinner hosted by representatives of the Overseas Pakistani Business Forum during his stay in the United States, highlighting the government’s engagement with the Pakistani diaspora.
The London stopover marks the final leg of the prime minister’s international tour before his return to Islamabad.
