PESHAWAR — Security forces killed eight India-sponsored terrorists during an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ismail Khan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security sources confirmed on Sunday.
According to the sources, the operation was launched after intelligence reports indicated the presence of militants in the area. Eight members of Fitna al-Khawarij were killed during the operation, including three key commanders.
Weapons and Foreign Currency Recovered
Security sources said a large quantity of weapons and ammunition, along with foreign currency, was recovered from the militants during the operation.
The operation was carried out under the government’s Azm-e-Istehkam vision, which aims to counter terrorism and promote lasting peace and stability in the country, according to the sources.
Prime Minister Praises Security Forces
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for carrying out a timely and effective operation against the militants.
The prime minister said the entire nation stood alongside the security forces in the fight against terrorism. He reiterated the government’s resolve to continue operations against Fitna al-Khawarij until the threat of terrorism was eliminated.
Shehbaz said eliminating terrorism was essential for maintaining peace and stability in the country.
Interior Minister Commends Successful Operation
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi also commended the security forces for the successful operation against militants in Dera Ismail Khan.
