Hollywood actress and longtime humanitarian advocate Angelina Jolie has once again turned her global platform toward the crisis in Gaza, releasing satellite imagery that lays bare the scale of destruction across the territory.
Satellite Images Reveal Widespread Ruin
The images shared by Jolie depict vast swaths of Gaza reduced to rubble, with entire neighbourhoods described as devastated beyond recognition. According to the actress, the conflict has left homes, schools, hospitals, roads and other essential infrastructure in ruins, stripping civilians of the basic facilities they depend on for survival.
Warning Ahead of Colder Weather
Jolie further cautioned that 94 percent of Gaza’s population will require shelter and essential supplies as colder weather sets in, raising fears of a deepening humanitarian emergency. The warning underscores concerns that displaced families, many already living in makeshift conditions, face mounting risks as temperatures drop.
A Consistent Voice on Humanitarian Issues
This is not the first time Jolie has spoken out about the situation in Gaza. In an earlier statement, she described the territory as having become a “mass grave” for Palestinians and for those attempting to assist them. Her remarks at the time drew strong criticism and anger from Israeli hardliners.
Jolie has been a prominent advocate on humanitarian issues for years, repeatedly using her public profile to draw attention to the plight of civilians affected by conflict around the world.
Pressure Mounts Over Civilian Suffering
The actress’s latest intervention adds to the international chorus of voices pressing for attention to the humanitarian dimensions of the conflict, as aid agencies continue to warn of severe shortages of shelter, food, medical care and other necessities for Gaza’s civilian population.
