KARACHI — Karachi Mayor Barrister Murtaza Wahab conducted a late-night tour of ongoing development projects across the city on Wednesday, inspecting construction and infrastructure improvement work firsthand, Dunya News reported.
During the visit, the mayor examined power block development work in Bhangoria Town in the Central District and reviewed projects in other neighborhoods, including the Small Industrial Area.
Push to Complete Projects and Open 140 Roads
Wahab said efforts were under way to complete the ongoing development schemes as soon as possible, which he said would pave the way for the rehabilitation of another 140 roads across Karachi.
The mayor also addressed criticism of the development initiatives, saying some detractors were unhappy with the pace and scale of the work being carried out in the city.
Public Service Cited as Top Priority
He maintained that serving citizens and resolving their problems remained the top priority of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), adding that the city administration was working in line with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Wahab further said measures were being taken to improve conditions in parts of the Central District that, according to him, had remained under the administration of previous rulers for an extended period.
He emphasized that the city’s problems should be addressed through practical steps rather than political statements, reiterating the administration’s focus on development and public service.
