LAHORE — Lahore traffic police have issued a detailed traffic management plan ahead of the Pakistan-England one-day international, aiming to ease access for spectators and keep vehicles moving around Gaddafi Stadium.
Chief Traffic Officer Syed Abdul Rahim Shirazi said two senior superintendents of police, seven deputy superintendents and 90 inspectors will be on duty during the match, backed by more than 1,000 traffic wardens deployed around the stadium, along team routes and on alternative roads.
Parking and Vehicle Support
To prevent illegal parking, 10 forklifts and five breakdown vehicles will also be stationed during the fixture. Four parking areas have been designated for cricket fans to ensure convenient access to the stadium.
No Permanent Road Closures
According to the CTO, Mall Road, Canal Road, Jail Road and Main Boulevard Gulberg will remain open to traffic, and no road will be permanently closed during the match. Roads may be blocked briefly during team movements, with diversions reopened as soon as the teams pass.
Parking Routes for Spectators
- Spectators travelling from Mall Road, Jail Road, Canal Road and Ferozepur Road can park at Government College for Boys via Ferozepur Road.
- Those arriving from Thokar, Johar Town and Kahna can reach the same facility via Kalma Chowk and Centre Point.
- Fans coming from the cantonment and Defence areas can park at CBD Sunfort Hotel and Liberty Market.
