French Woman Ordered to Repay €10,000 to CAF for Undisclosed Income from Online Sales

French Woman Ordered to Repay €10,000 to CAF for Undisclosed Income from Online Sales

A French woman has been ordered to repay €10,000 to the CAF, a social assistance agency, after failing to report income from selling personal items on online platforms like Vinted and Momox. According to reports, the woman has been a beneficiary of the RSA (Revenu de Solidarité Active) for two years and did not disclose the earnings from her sales to the CAF. Additionally, her relatives had also sent money through a bank, which was not reported either. The CAF has instructed the woman to provide details of all her income, including the proceeds from her sales.

The woman argued that the income from her sales should not be considered for RSA eligibility, as it is only taxable when there are 20 or more transactions per year totaling over €3,000. However, the administrative court clarified that these rules do not apply to the CAF. The court stated that it is mandatory for all beneficiaries to provide details of their entire income, whether it be through wages or online sales revenue. This incident highlights that beneficiaries may face repayment of financial aid if they fail to provide full income details. Furthermore, delays in providing information could lead to a suspension of financial assistance.

This news serves as a lesson for individuals receiving social assistance to accurately report all their income to avoid any financial difficulties. In related legislation, mandatory activities for jobseekers have been set at 15 hours per week.

In other news, Hamas has secured the release of three more Israeli prisoners, and China’s successful deep-sea exploration has revealed investments worth $80 billion in India. Meanwhile, a student in Bobigny has suffered violence, with a 22-year-old guardian and his 17-year-old brother placed under arrest.
