Regional Impact and Conditions
The weather system is affecting the country unevenly. In the east, from Grand Est to Burgundy, slippery conditions are expected Wednesday morning due to snow reaching plain areas. Meanwhile, mountain ranges including the Vosges, Jura, Northern Alps, Massif Central, and Pyrenees continue to experience significant snowfall, maintaining high avalanche risks even at low altitudes.
Southern regions enjoy sunshine from Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur to the Gulf of Lion, but face strong tramontane and mistral winds with gusts reaching 80-100 km/h. Corsica remains exposed to occasional thunderstorms.
Temperature Outlook
Morning temperatures range from -2°C to +1°C with widespread frost, except in the Rhône valley and coastal areas. Afternoon highs will reach only 3-7°C in the northeast and central-east, 8-12°C in the west and south, and 14-16°C on the French Riviera and Corsica.
Continuing Unsettled Weather
A new rainy disturbance is expected to reach Brittany by Wednesday evening before spreading across the country on Thursday. While milder conditions will gradually return from the west later in the week, forecasters warn of additional slippery conditions in eastern plains and strong winds in the west by Saturday, November 29, associated with a deepening depression over the British Isles.
