The Pakistan Super League (PSL) has officially launched its brand identity for the upcoming 11th edition, revealing a new logo and confirming details for a landmark season that will feature eight franchises for the first time.
A Logo Celebrating “Eleven”
The league unveiled the official branding through its social media channels. The design creatively integrates the Urdu word for eleven, “گیارہ” (Gyaarah), with the numeral “11” forming a central part of the visual identity, signaling the commencement of the historic season.
Expanded Format and Opening Fixture
The 11th edition is scheduled to begin on March 26 at Lahore’s iconic Gaddafi Stadium. The opening match will see defending champions Lahore Qalandars face the tournament’s debutants, the Hyderabad Houston Kingsmen. The game will be preceded by a ceremonial opening event in Lahore.
PSL CEO Salman Naseer, addressing the media alongside franchise representatives, confirmed the opening details. He indicated that Lahore will host a significant portion of the initial matches, with the full tournament schedule to be announced imminently.
Major Franchise Rebranding Finalized
In a major development preceding the tournament, the franchise previously known as Sialkot Stallionz has been officially rebranded as the Multan Sultans. This change follows a strategic partnership and majority acquisition by CD Ventures, which appointed Gohar Shah as the new CEO.
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) approved the rebranding, which has increased the franchise’s valuation from 1.85 billion to 2 billion Pakistani rupees. The move also marks the return of a team representing the South Punjab region to the league.
Discussions on Global Expansion
CEO Salman Naseer also addressed growing speculation about the league’s international footprint. He confirmed that hosting a match overseas to engage the global Pakistani diaspora is under active consideration as the PSL aims to strengthen its position as a premier global T20 competition.
With the logo launch and key announcements, the stage is set for the most expansive edition of the Pakistan Super League to date.
