Minister Cites “Major Breakthrough” in Bilateral Relations
Russia has committed to continuing and expanding its economic cooperation with Iran, including new joint projects, affirming that collaboration will proceed uninterrupted despite external pressures. The declaration was made by Russian Energy Minister Sergey Tsivilyov, who also co-chairs the Intergovernmental Committee on Russia-Iran Trade and Economic Cooperation.
Commitment Made Amid Diplomatic Condolences
Tsivilyov made the statement while speaking to reporters at the Iranian Ambassador’s residence in Moscow, where he was present to offer condolences. He pointed to the recent meeting of the Intergovernmental Committee in Tehran on February 17 as a foundation for progress.
“We have worked very well,” Tsivilyov stated. “I believe this is a major breakthrough.” He emphasized that the parties discussed previously reached agreements and have established a concrete working schedule across all agreed areas of cooperation.
Framework for Sustained Collaboration
The minister detailed that a joint agreement was signed during the Tehran committee meeting, creating a structured plan for ongoing work. “Cooperation areas will not be interrupted despite all challenges. Therefore, we will continue to cooperate with Iran,” Tsivilyov asserted. He added that Russia “will strive to adhere to this schedule despite all challenges,” underscoring a determined bilateral posture.
This reaffirmation of partnership highlights the deepening economic and strategic ties between the two nations as they navigate a complex international landscape.
