Villevaudé, Seine-et-Marne – The shrieks of excited children splashing in the pools of the Capfun Parc de Paris campsite provided a stark contrast to the grim silence that had fallen over the nearby sports field on Sunday. While families sought refuge from the sweltering 30-degree, the entrance barriers to the 350-mobile home complex had become the focal point of a homicide investigation.
A 17-year-old boy collapsed and died on Saturday evening shortly after 7 p.m., succumbing to a single stab wound to the thorax. The fatal altercation erupted directly at the gates of the bustling holiday resort, shattering the tranquility of the long Pentecost weekend.
Confrontation Captured on CCTV
According to initial witness accounts and security footage reviewed by management, the violence was swift and targeted. The victim had been involved in a dispute with a group of young individuals who at the scene by car.
“On our surveillance cameras, we can see a car parking along the road, right in front of the campsite entrance,” explained Esteban Lépine, the site director. “Two young men got out and headed straight for the barriers. That is where the brawl broke out and the victim was stabbed.”
The attack occurred on the periphery of the playgrounds and the “city stade,” a multi-sport court that stood deserted on Sunday afternoon. The proximity of the violence to the children’s recreational areas has deeply shaken the holidaymakers present.
