The decision was finalized during a special committee meeting on Gallantry Awards in Islamabad, chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

The approved honors span multiple categories, specifically recognizing those who made the ultimate sacrifice for their homeland and others who demonstrated exceptional bravery in the face of mortal danger. Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi underscored the profound national responsibility to uplift such heroes. “Encouraging those who sacrificed their lives for the country and demonstrated extraordinary bravery is a national responsibility,” he stated. He further emphasized that the country remains eternally indebted to its martyrs and Ghazis for their unforgettable sacrifices, describing their acts as a valuable asset for the entire nation.

The high-level session saw the participation of key federal and provincial officials, reflecting the collective importance of the occasion. Attendees included Minister of State for Interior Talal Chaudhry, the Federal Interior Secretary, the Director General of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), and the Additional Cabinet Secretary. To ensure nationwide representation, officials from all four provinces joined the proceedings via video link, deliberating on the recommendations before final approval was granted.
