LAHORE – Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has officially announced that Basant 2027 will be celebrated in Lahore from March 12 to 14. The announcement comes on the heels of what officials describe as a highly successful Basant 2026, positioning the city to once again become a vibrant hub of colours, culture, and festivities.
Three Days of Music, Culture, and Celebration
According to the chief minister, the three-day festival will feature a rich lineup of music performances, cultural activities, and other public events. The goal is to recreate the traditional spirit of Basant while showcasing Lahore’s heritage and hospitality on a national and international stage.
Maryam Nawaz extended a direct invitation to young people from across Punjab and Pakistan, urging them to participate in the festivities, create lasting memories, and bring their energy to the provincial capital.
Invitation to Overseas Pakistanis and International Visitors
In a special appeal, the chief minister also invited overseas Pakistanis and international tourists to attend Basant Lahore 2027. She asked them to mark March 12, 13, and 14 on their calendars and plan their visits accordingly.
“Lahore will once again come alive with colours, culture, celebrations, music and traditional hospitality,” Maryam Nawaz said. She added, “I will be waiting, Lahore will be waiting, Pakistan will be waiting for you.”
Building on Basant 2026 Momentum
The announcement signals the Punjab government’s continued push to revive large-scale cultural festivals in the province. Officials view Basant as not only a cultural landmark but also a driver of tourism and economic activity in Lahore.
Maryam Nawaz expressed confidence that Basant 2027 would be made a memorable celebration through collective participation from citizens, diaspora communities, and foreign guests.
