PTI Welcomes Court Order to Shift Imran Khan to Shifa Hospital

ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has welcomed the Supreme Court’s decision ordering that party founder Imran Khan be shifted to Shifa International Hospital for medical treatment within two days, with senior leaders pledging full compliance and urging supporters to stay away from the facility.

Speaking to journalists at Parliament House, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan described the apex court ruling as a positive step and called for Imran Khan’s immediate transfer to the hospital. He made clear that the party would honour the court’s directions in letter and spirit.

PTI Pledges No Gatherings Outside Hospital

Gohar asked PTI workers and supporters not to gather outside Shifa International Hospital, stressing that any crowd could disrupt the treatment process. He said the party would never use the PTI founder’s health for political purposes and that medical reports concerning Imran Khan’s condition would not be exploited for personal or political gain.

The PTI chairman also raised the issue of former first lady Bushra Bibi’s medical needs, calling for her to be provided with appropriate healthcare facilities in a similar manner.

Commitment to Court and Peaceful Conduct

PTI Secretary General Salman Akram Raja reinforced the party’s position, saying PTI would not politicise Imran Khan’s health under any circumstances. He said he had assured the Supreme Court that the party would not organise gatherings or create disorder outside the hospital.

Raja urged supporters to remain peaceful and avoid any activity that could interfere with the treatment process, emphasising that the party must honour its commitment to the court.

KP Chief Minister Calls for Restraint

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi also welcomed the development, expressing gratitude and calling for further decisions based on justice. He warned PTI workers against taking any action that could amount to contempt of the court’s decision.

The Supreme Court’s order marks a significant moment in the ongoing legal and political saga surrounding Imran Khan, with PTI leadership now focused on ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted medical process at Shifa International Hospital.
