Olympic gold medallist Arshad Nadeem has departed for South Africa to take part in a specialised training camp in Potchefstroom as he sharpens his preparations for a major international competition later this month.
The Pakistani javelin star will spend two weeks in South Africa working under the guidance of renowned coach Tersius Liebenberg. The camp is designed to fine-tune his technique and conditioning before he returns to elite competition.
Budapest Awaits After High-Altitude Preparation
Following the completion of his training block, Nadeem will travel to Hungary to compete in the World Athletics Ultimate Championship. The event is scheduled to take place in Budapest from September 11 to 13.
This is not Nadeem’s first experience training in South Africa. The Olympic champion has previously used facilities in the country as part of his international preparation, a strategy that has proven effective in his rise to the top of the javelin world.
Building on Olympic Success
Nadeem made history by winning the gold medal in the men’s javelin throw at the Paris Olympics, becoming the first Pakistani track and field athlete to achieve the feat. His training camp in Potchefstroom is seen as a key step in maintaining that world-class form.
