RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces, in close coordination with police, have killed 49 terrorists during a series of intelligence-based joint operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, the military’s media wing announced on Wednesday.
The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) confirmed that the operations were conducted over the past several days as part of an intensified counterterrorism campaign aimed at dismantling terrorist networks and neutralizing threats to national peace and stability.
Operations Target Foreign-Backed Networks
According to the ISPR, 12 terrorists belonging to what it described as the Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khwarij were killed during multiple intelligence-based operations in Bannu, North Waziristan, Orakzai, and Khyber districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Security forces recovered and destroyed a large quantity of explosives, improvised explosive device detonating mechanisms, weapons, ammunition, and motorcycles during the operations, the statement added.
Balochistan Operations Yield Significant Results
In Balochistan, 37 terrorists linked to the Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Hindustan were killed in 10 separate intelligence-based operations conducted in Mastung, Mach, Khuzdar, and Panjgur districts.
The ISPR reported that security forces also seized and destroyed a significant cache of weapons, explosive drums, and remote-detonation equipment during these operations.
Sanitisation and Ongoing Campaign
The military’s media wing stated that sanitisation operations are currently underway to eliminate any remaining terrorists in the affected areas.
“Security Forces of Pakistan remain resolute and unwavering in their commitment to defend the nation’s frontiers,” the ISPR said, emphasizing that the counterterrorism campaign under Azm-e-Istehkam—approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan—would continue at full pace.
The ISPR further declared that the campaign would persist until the threat of what it termed foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism is completely eliminated from the country.
