ISLAMABAD — Unverified reports circulating in Pakistani media claim that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari is engaged and planning to marry by the end of this year, with sources linking the alleged development to the small European principality of Liechtenstein. The PPP has categorically rejected the claims as “incorrect and unfounded.”
According to the reports, Bilawal’s purported fiancée is from Vaduz, the capital of Liechtenstein. Sources further claimed that President Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal’s father, had traveled to Liechtenstein accompanied by other family members to discuss wedding arrangements and set a date for the ceremony.
Alleged European Connection
Liechtenstein is a small, landlocked sovereign state in Western Europe, nestled between Switzerland and Austria. Its capital, Vaduz, is known for its scenic Alpine setting and serves as the country’s political and administrative hub. Karachi Mayor Murtaza Wahab, who also serves as a spokesperson for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, publicly denied the reports on Saturday. Taking to social media, Wahab stated that the news story regarding the chairman’s engagement or wedding was “incorrect and unfounded.”
“The news story regarding Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s engagement or wedding is incorrect and unfounded,” Wahab wrote, offering no further details.
Official Position Remains Denial
With no official announcement from Bilawal Bhutto Zardari or his family confirming the reported engagement, the claims remain unverified. The PPP’s denial currently stands as the party’s official position on the matter, leaving the public with a clear rebuttal but little clarity on the origins of the rumor.
