Security forces killed nine militants in two separate operations across Balochistan, striking at armed groups in the restive province while losing ground personnel to injury in one of the encounters, officials said.
Mastung Operation Targets Militant Commander
In Mastung district, security forces launched an operation against militants described by officials as belonging to “Fitna al-Hindustan.” Three militants were killed, including a commander identified as Naqeeb.
According to security sources, a quadcopter successfully targeted the militants’ vehicle during the operation. The strike killed the three fighters and completely destroyed the vehicle.
Security sources said the forces remain committed to eliminating terrorism and that operations will continue until the last militant is eliminated.
CTD Raid in Pishin Kills Six, Injures Four Personnel
Separately, the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) conducted an intelligence-based operation in the Saranan area of Pishin district. A CTD spokesperson said six suspected militants were killed in an exchange of fire.
Four security personnel were also wounded during the operation, the spokesperson said.
The CTD stated that the deceased suspects were affiliated with a banned organisation and that weapons and explosives were recovered from their possession. The spokesperson further claimed that the militants had been involved in attacks targeting security forces and civilians.
Continued Counter-Militancy Push
The operations form part of sustained efforts by security forces to counter militant activity in Balochistan, a province that has witnessed repeated attacks on security personnel and civilians in recent years.
