Pakistan’s information technology exports rose 19% year-on-year to $435 million in September 2026, the sector’s strongest monthly performance in nine months, according to data released by the State Bank of Pakistan.
The central bank reported a 10% month-on-month increase in IT export earnings for September, underscoring continued momentum in the country’s technology services sector.

For the first quarter of the current fiscal year, spanning July to September, IT exports totaled $1.25 billion. On an annual basis, earnings climbed 20% over the past year, rising from $4 billion to $4.8 billion.

Government Sets Ambitious Target
Under its Uraan Pakistan plan, the government aims to expand IT exports to $10 billion by the end of fiscal year 2028-29 — more than double the current annual figure.
Reaching that goal would require sustained growth in technology services, stronger access to international markets and continued expansion of the country’s digital economy, analysts say.
