Kylie Jenner is set to take on her first major acting role, starring in a thriller series in development for Hulu, with her sister Kim Kardashian serving as a co-executive producer.
A Full Season Order Without a Pilot
According to multiple US media outlets including Deadline and Entertainment Weekly, Hulu has chosen to order a full season of the series without going through the traditional pilot episode stage — a strong vote of confidence in the project.
The show, currently titled Bachelorette Weekend, unfolds over the course of a bachelorette getaway during which the bride — played by Jenner — is murdered. What follows is an investigation to identify the killer among the bride’s closest friends and bridesmaids.
A Central Role in the Narrative
Jenner’s character has been described by the production as “central to the storyline” crafted by writer Lauren Oliver, serving as the key to “shedding light on the truth.” The role is expected to be omnipresent throughout the series, potentially through flashback sequences that piece together the puzzle of her death.
Her involvement extends beyond acting. Jenner will serve as an executive producer on the project, working alongside Kardashian, who has become well established in the entertainment industry. The series will be co-produced by Kapital Entertainment and 20th Television, formerly known as 20th Century Fox.
An Aspiring Actress
This marks Jenner’s first leading role following a notable debut. Her cameo in Charli xcx’s film The Moment generated widespread commentary. After that appearance, the mother of two told Entertainment Weekly that the small part — combined with years spent around the film industry through her partner Timothée Chalamet — had “given her the acting bug” and that she wanted to pursue it seriously.
She can count on advice from the Dune star as well as from her sister, who made a similar transition several years ago. Kim Kardashian has built an increasingly full filmography, largely through collaborations with Ryan Murphy — appearing in the horror series American Horror Story and the legal drama All’s Fair, which she also co-produces. She is also set to headline La 5e roue du carrosse, directed by Eva Longoria. On the production side, Kardashian is firmly established, with several series and reality shows already aired or in the pipeline.
Production Timeline Still Unknown
It remains unclear when filming will begin or when the series will premiere. In France, it is expected to stream on Disney+, which typically offers Hulu content to its subscribers.
