A significant drug trafficking network operating between Toulouse, France, and Spain has been exposed following an extensive investigation led by France’s Anti-Narcotics Office (OFAST). A resident of Colomiers, a suburb of Toulouse, is suspected of importing cocaine from Spain and supplying it to an extensive network. So far, ten individuals have been arrested in connection with the case.
The investigation revealed that the network was actively smuggling cocaine between Toulouse (Haute-Garonne) and Barcelona, Spain. Authorities uncovered the operation through surveillance, intelligence analysis, and monitoring movements across the Spanish border. The first arrest took place on January 16, followed by additional detentions in subsequent operations.
During raids in Toulouse and the Pau region, police seized two kilograms of cocaine, €65,000 in cash, and two handguns. Five individuals were arrested at their homes, while multiple locations were searched as part of the crackdown. A source close to the investigation stated, “Several individuals have been detained, charged, and sent to prison.”
The investigation remains ongoing, with further developments expected in the Barcelona area of Spain. This case highlights the French authorities’ continued efforts to combat drug trafficking and dismantle criminal networks. OFAST has reiterated its commitment to targeting and eliminating drug trafficking operations and organized crime groups.
The bust underscores the persistent challenge of cross-border drug smuggling in Europe and the collaborative efforts required to address it. Authorities are expected to continue their crackdown as they work to uncover additional links in the network.
