Three Pakistani nationals sustained injuries after debris from an intercepted projectile fell at Khor Fakkan Port in the United Arab Emirates on Sunday, according to authorities. The incident prompted an urgent call for regional de-escalation from Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Emergency Response and Casualty Details
The Sharjah Government Media Bureau reported that a fire broke out at the port following the debris fall, which occurred after a successful interception by UAE air defence systems. Emergency teams quickly contained the blaze, with cooling operations continuing thereafter.
Injuries among the three Pakistani citizens ranged from minor to moderate. A Nepalese national was also seriously injured in the incident and was transported to a hospital for treatment. Authorities have urged the public to rely on official information sources and refrain from spreading unverified rumors.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the event in a statement on social media platform X. “We remain in close contact with UAE authorities to ensure all necessary support is extended to our citizens,” he stated, adding prayers for the swift recovery of the injured.
The Prime Minister emphasized Pakistan’s solidarity with the UAE and reiterated “the urgent need for restraint and de-escalation in the region.” The Embassy of Pakistan in Abu Dhabi also voiced its concern and wished the injured a speedy recovery.
