Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Secretary General Salman Akram Raja has ruled out any change to the party’s announced October 4 date, insisting that PTI’s decisions regarding both September 27 and October 4 remain clear and unchanged.
No Room for a Date Change
Speaking on Dunya News programme “TONIGHT with Samar Abbas,” Raja said there was no reason to revisit the protest calendar. He maintained that the party’s plans for September 27 and October 4 had been settled and would not be altered.
‘We Want to Come With Flowers’
The PTI secretary general rejected any suggestion that his party was seeking confrontation, framing its movement as a peaceful political struggle.
“We do not want chaos; we want to come with flowers in our hands,” Raja said, adding that political parties could play a leading role in shaping events, but that ultimately it was the nation that brought change and made the final decision.
Negotiations Rested Elsewhere
Raja drew a distinction between protest and dialogue, saying PTI’s role was to continue its struggle peacefully, while the authority to negotiate rested with Mahmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
No Expectation of Justice From the Courts
In a pointed remark on the party’s legal prospects, Raja said PTI did not expect to receive justice from the courts.
Turning to the possibility of Governor’s rule, he said that in such a situation the people would have to make the decision themselves.
“Anything can be done; black words can be written on a white piece of paper,” Raja remarked.
