The second day of the Multan Test saw the West Indies batting lineup crumble against Pakistan’s formidable bowling attack. After Pakistan was bowled out for 230 runs, the visitors found themselves in deep trouble, managing only 66 runs for the loss of eight wickets. Sajid Khan and Nauman Ali spearheaded Pakistan’s bowling dominance, leaving the West Indies reeling.
Sajid Khan emerged as the chief tormentor for the West Indies, claiming the first four wickets. He dismissed Mikyle Louis for 1, Kacey Carty for a duck, Kraigg Brathwaite for 11, and Kevin Hodge for 4. Nauman Ali then took over, further dismantling the West Indies batting order. He sent Justin Greaves back for 4, followed by Trayvon Amlich and Alick Athanaze, both dismissed for 6 runs each. Keilon Sinclair was the last to fall, scoring 11 runs before being sent back to the pavilion.
Earlier in the day, Pakistan resumed their innings at 143 for 4 but struggled to build momentum. Saud Shakeel top-scored with 84, while Mohammad Rizwan contributed a solid 71. However, the rest of the batting lineup faltered, with Salman Agha scoring 7, Nauman Ali falling for a duck, and Khurram Shahzad managing only 7 runs. Captain Shan Masood added 11, Babar Azam scored 8, Mohammad Haris made 7, and Kamran Ghulam contributed 5 runs.
The West Indies bowlers, led by Jaden Seales and Jomel Warrican, who took three wickets each, kept the pressure on Pakistan. Kevin Sinclair claimed two wickets, while Gudakesh Motie chipped in with one.
The match has proven to be a stern test for both teams, with bowlers dominating the proceedings. The West Indies will now look to their remaining batsmen to stage a recovery and challenge Pakistan’s bowling attack. As the Test progresses, all eyes will be on whether the visitors can turn the tide or if Pakistan will continue to assert their dominance.
