Security forces in Pakistan’s southwestern Balochistan province have killed three militants and surrounded seven others in two separate operations in Gwadar, according to security sources.
The first operation was launched after militants attempted to storm a vacant camp belonging to a construction company. Security personnel responded promptly, thwarting the assault and killing three attackers at the scene.
Second Operation Underway at Hotel Near Coastal Highway
In a separate development, security forces launched an operation at a hotel near the Gwadar highway after reports emerged of militants present at the location. Four militants are currently surrounded by security personnel as the operation continues.
Security sources identified the militants as members of Fitna al-Hindustan, a militant outfit operating in the region.
GOC Personally Leads Response
Gwadar’s General Officer Commanding is personally overseeing the operations, underscoring the seriousness with which authorities are treating the twin incidents. The two operations are being conducted at separate locations across the coastal city.
Three additional militants were surrounded in the initial operation near the construction camp, bringing the total number of suspected militants contained across both sites to seven.
Details Remain Scarce
Authorities have yet to release a comprehensive account of the operations, including the identities of those killed, the final casualty count, and whether any security personnel were injured during the exchanges.
The developments come amid ongoing security concerns in Balochistan, where militant attacks have repeatedly targeted security personnel, infrastructure, and other installations in recent months. Security forces continue efforts to secure the area and prevent further attacks.
