A moderate earthquake measuring 4.4 on the Richter scale jolted parts of Sindh on Monday morning, sending residents into a state of panic, though no casualties or property damage were immediately reported.
Tremors Felt Across the Province
According to the Seismological Centre, the earthquake struck at 10:46am local time, with its epicentre located 61 kilometres southwest of Sehwan. The quake originated at a depth of 16 kilometres, a relatively shallow focal point that likely amplified the shaking felt at the surface.
The centre recorded the quake’s coordinates at 25.97 degrees north latitude and 67.52 degrees east longitude, placing the epicentre in a sparsely populated stretch of the province.
Panic but No Casualties
The tremors caused widespread alarm among residents, many of whom rushed out of their homes and offices as the ground shook. Despite the fear, authorities received no immediate reports of loss of life or damage to property.
