Singer Hadiqa Kiani Calls for Urgent Aid as Pakistan Floods Worsen

Pakistani singer Hadiqa Kiani has issued an urgent appeal for donations and medical volunteers to support communities affected by devastating floods in the Kasur district. During a visit to a relief camp on Sunday, Kiani used Instagram to highlight the immediate needs of those displaced, including food, clothing, bedding, and medicine. She also emphasized the coming need for winter supplies like jackets and blankets.

Kiani drew attention to the plight of local livestock, much of which has been lost to floodwaters, dealing a severe blow to livelihoods. Surviving animals require urgent fodder and veterinary care, she said.

Donation points have been set up at several locations, including Lahore’s Dolmen Mall and Fortress Stadium, as well as in Sheikhupura, Kasur, and Nankana Sahib. Those unable to donate in person are encouraged to transfer funds to the Army Relief Fund for Flood Affectees.

This is not Kiani’s first involvement in disaster response. In 2022, she led the Vaseela-e-Raah campaign, which constructed hundreds of homes, a school, a clinic, and a mosque in flood-ravaged villages.

This year’s monsoon floods have proven equally catastrophic. Official figures report 910 fatalities nationwide, along with the loss of more than 6,000 animals and extensive damage to homes. While Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has been hardest hit, Punjab is now experiencing what local authorities describe as the worst flooding in its history. Sindh province is also on high alert as floodwaters advance amid ongoing heavy rainfall.

Multiple organizations are mobilizing relief efforts across affected regions in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gilgit-Baltistan, and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
