The Pakistan Stock Exchange’s benchmark KSE-100 Index opened higher on Thursday, clawing back a portion of the losses suffered during the previous session’s sharp selloff.
The index was trading at 168,452.66 points, up 430.86 points, or 0.26 percent, from the previous close of 168,021.80.

During the session so far, the KSE-100 has touched a high of 169,151.18 points and a low of 168,222.91 points. Trading volume stood at 17,429,712 shares.
Context: Previous Session’s Decline
The latest movement follows a steep decline in the prior session. On September 16, the KSE-100 Index dropped 1,370.52 points, or 0.81 percent, to settle at 168,021.80 points.
Thursday’s early gains suggest investors are cautiously re-entering the market after the previous session’s downturn, though the index remains below its recent highs.
