QUETTA — Security forces have killed 19 terrorists in a series of operations across Balochistan, including 13 militants during an ongoing clearance mission in the Shaban area of District Quetta, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
Shaban Clearance Operation
The operation in Shaban was launched on 21 September after intelligence agencies reported the presence of multiple hideouts linked to groups described by the ISPR as Indian-sponsored Fitna Al Khawarij and Fitna Al Hindustan. The hideouts were said to pose a direct threat to the local population.
During the continuing operation, security forces engaged and cleared multiple terrorist hideouts following intense exchanges of fire. The ISPR confirmed that 13 terrorists have been killed so far, while weapons, ammunition and explosives were recovered from the cleared sites.
Officials said the clearance operation will continue until the threat in the area is completely neutralised, as part of broader efforts to protect local residents and dismantle militant infrastructure identified through intelligence reports.
Intelligence-Based Operations in Kech and Quetta West
In separate engagements on 22 and 23 September, security forces conducted pre-emptive, intelligence-based operations in District Kech and District Quetta West.
Troops engaged the terrorists during the operations, killing six militants after fierce firefights. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the areas where the engagements took place.
Soldier Martyred in Line of Duty
During one of the exchanges, Subedar Muhammad Jamil, 39, a resident of Taunsa Sharif in District Dera Ghazi Khan, was killed while performing his duties. The ISPR described him as a “son of the soil” who embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.
Azm-e-Istehkam Campaign to Continue
The ISPR stated that the counter-terrorism campaign under the vision of “Azm-e-Istehkam”, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan, will continue at full pace.
Security forces and law enforcement agencies remain engaged in operations against what the ISPR described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism.
