QUETTA — The Balochistan government has imposed Section 144 across the province for 30 days, citing security concerns and the need to maintain law and order, officials confirmed.
According to Babar Yousafzai, adviser to the Home Department, the restrictions took effect on September 23, 2026, and will remain in force for the full 30-day period.
Weapons Displays Outlawed Province-Wide
Under the order, the display and public exhibition of all kinds of weapons at public places has been banned throughout Balochistan. The prohibition applies across the province without exception.
Gatherings, Protests and Sit-Ins Prohibited
Yousafzai said gatherings of five or more people at public places would also be prohibited for the duration of the order. The ban extends to sit-ins, rallies, protests and other similar activities.

Face Coverings Banned in Public
The provincial government has further imposed a ban on covering one’s face, wearing a veil or using any other means at public places that could obstruct the identification of an individual.
Strict Enforcement Ordered
The government has directed all law enforcement agencies and district administrations to ensure strict implementation of Section 144 across Balochistan.
Yousafzai warned that those violating the restrictions would face action under the relevant laws.
