Pakistan wicketkeeper-batter Mohammad Rizwan has renewed his demand for transparency from the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), sending a second letter that seeks written details of the inquiry against him and the immediate return of his mobile phone.
According to the letter, Rizwan has yet to receive any written information about the nature of the inquiry, nor has the agency contacted him regarding further proceedings.
Phone Seized in England on August 31
Rizwan stated that his mobile phone was taken from him in England on August 31. He said he provided the device’s password and permitted NCCIA officials to examine it in his presence.
The letter noted that he had been assured the phone would be returned within three hours and that its digital forensic examination would be completed shortly.
Rizwan further stated that when he appeared before the NCCIA on September 10, officials again had access to his unlocked phone and reviewed messages and other material on the device in his presence.
Cricketer Insists He Cooperated at Every Stage
He stressed that he had never refused to provide his mobile phone password and had cooperated with the NCCIA throughout the inquiry.
- Rizwan is seeking written reasons for the inquiry.
- He has asked to be informed of the date and time of any future proceedings.
- He urged the agency to return his phone without further delay, noting the device remains in its possession.
- He requested that all future communication be routed through official channels and sent to his residential address.
The development comes as the cricketer continues to press for clarity on an investigation that has left his personal device in the agency’s custody for nearly a month.
