Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam has claimed that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have rejected what he termed the “politics of chaos,” saying residents have made clear their desire for peace, development and prosperity.
Addressing a rally in Swat, Muqam said the weak public response to PTI’s protest call showed that the province’s residents preferred development over political confrontation, according to Dunya News.
Public Priorities ‘Clear,’ Says Minister
Muqam described the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as politically aware and said they had set their own priorities.
“Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is not anyone’s personal property,” he said, adding that the public wanted progress rather than unrest.
Sharp Criticism of PTI’s Record
The federal minister criticised PTI, saying the party had been given the mandate to govern the province three times but had failed to meet public expectations.
He alleged that corruption and mismanagement had prevailed during PTI’s tenure and claimed the province had suffered over the past 13 years.
Federal Initiatives Welcomed
Muqam said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa were welcoming the initiatives taken by the federal government.
He also highlighted the sacrifices made by the province’s residents in the fight against terrorism, saying their contributions should not be overlooked.
The minister maintained that the people of the province wanted lasting peace, economic development and prosperity instead of protests and political unrest.
