In a swift and audacious robbery, two armed thieves made off with several iPhones from the Inter-Actif store in Versailles, France. The incident occurred on Thursday, February 20, 2025, around 10:45 a.m., leaving the staff and local community shaken.
The criminals, wearing helmets, arrived on a motorcycle and approached the store located at the intersection of Rue du Maréchal-Foch and Passage de la Charité. One of the assailants brandished a handgun to threaten the employees, compelling them to hand over the smartphones. With their loot secured, the duo quickly fled the scene on their motorcycle, evading capture by the national police, who arrived too late to apprehend them. The extent of the financial loss remains undetermined as the investigation, now in the hands of Versailles’ Brigade for the Repression of Banditry, continues.
The speed and efficiency of the heist left few witnesses. Some local shopkeepers reported seeing the suspects only fleetingly, unable to comprehend the situation until it was over. “We saw them take off, but it happened so quickly,” remarked a shopkeeper from Rue du Maréchal-Foch.
This incident is not isolated for the area, as residents recount a similar theft attempt at a neighboring store just a week prior. On February 13, an individual entered the nearby Animalis shop wielding a knife, though they left empty-handed after failing to secure any goods.
The recurring nature of such crimes in the vicinity, close to the Notre-Dame market, has raised concerns among local business owners. A nearby merchant recalled another recent robbery involving two men stealing a phone from an agency. “I’ve talked to my neighbors; no one feels safe,” the merchant admitted.
In the aftermath of the robbery, Inter-Actif temporarily closed its doors, with a notice apologizing for the inconvenience and announcing a planned reopening on Saturday, February 22, 2025.
