Streaming Giant to Broadcast “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG” Worldwide in March 2026
Following its live broadcast of Beyoncé’s Christmas special, Netflix has announced another major music event. The streaming platform will exclusively live stream the highly anticipated comeback concert of global K-pop phenomenon BTS on March 21, 2026. The broadcast will be available in over 190 countries.
First Full Group Performance Since Military Service
The concert, titled “BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE | ARIRANG,” marks a monumental moment in pop culture. It will be the first time all seven members of BTS perform together since 2022, when they began enlisting for mandatory military service in South Korea. The group completed its service obligations in 2025.
The event in Seoul is set to precede a massive world tour. It follows the scheduled release of the group’s new album, “ARIRANG,” on March 20, 2026.
New Album and Documentary to Accompany Return
The album “ARIRANG” is the group’s first since 2022’s “Proof,” which was the best-selling album in South Korea that year. Netflix stated the new album contains “a deep reflection on the team’s origins and identity.” The title references a traditional Korean folk song about separation.
Netflix also confirmed a documentary, “BTS: THE RETURN,” will premiere on the platform on March 27, 2026, following the concert.
Record-Breaking World Tour and Economic Impact
BTS will embark on a world tour starting in April 2026. Their label, HYBE, announced plans for 79 concerts across 34 cities, calling it the most extensive tour ever for a South Korean artist in terms of dates and international reach.
The group’s economic influence remains staggering. According to the Korean Culture and Tourism Institute, BTS generates over $3.8 billion annually for South Korea’s economy, representing approximately 0.2% of the national GDP. Following the Netflix announcement, HYBE’s stock rose more than 2% in morning trading on the Seoul stock exchange.
