PESHAWAR — Pakistani security forces killed four militants in two separate intelligence-based operations across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, recovering weapons, ammunition and a motorcycle, officials said.
Three Killed in Mir Ali Operation
In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, security forces targeted hideouts of militants in Mir Ali and its adjoining areas of North Waziristan, killing three fighters during the raid. A substantial cache of weapons and ammunition was seized from the site.
The operation was launched on the basis of intelligence indicating the presence of militants in the area, according to security sources.
Balochistan Raid Targets Surab District
In a separate operation in Balochistan, security forces acted on information about militant movement between Mal Madrasa and Batigo in Surab district. One militant was killed in the exchange, and forces recovered weapons and a motorcycle from the location.
The operation was conducted under the framework of Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3, officials said. Security forces reiterated their commitment to maintaining peace and order in Balochistan and to eliminating terrorism from the region.
Interior Minister Praises Forces
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi commended the security forces for the successful operations, saying their timely action foiled the militants’ plans and demonstrated operational capability.
Naqvi said intelligence-based operations would continue until the complete elimination of terrorists, adding that the security forces remain committed to taking action against all those involved in terrorist activities.
The minister paid tribute to the personnel engaged in the operations, describing them as a source of national pride and saluting their courage and commitment.
Prime Minister Reaffirms Counterterrorism Push
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also paid tribute to the security forces for the Mir Ali operation, commending the recovery of weapons and ammunition from the killed militants.
He said the operations against terrorism are commendable and will continue until the menace is eradicated. The prime minister reiterated that eliminating terrorism from Pakistan remains the government’s priority and that the entire nation stands shoulder-to-shoulder with its security forces.
Recent Operations in KP and Balochistan
The latest raids follow earlier operations in which security forces killed seven militants across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.
- In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, five militants were killed during an intelligence-based operation in Bara, with weapons and ammunition recovered and their hideouts destroyed.
- In Balochistan’s Chagai district, two militants were killed in an operation in the Naukcha area under Operation Radd-ul-Fitna 3.
Officials said the counterterrorism campaign would persist until terrorist networks are fully dismantled.
