A new urban planning study has unveiled future development plans for Paris’s iconic Rue de Rivoli. The proposed blueprint, presented by a city planning agency, includes the introduction of bus lanes, expanded sidewalks, and enhanced greenery to transform the thoroughfare which stretches for nearly 3 kilometers from Place de la Concorde to the Louvre’s upcoming construction projects. Currently, this major artery in the heart of Paris is bustling with cyclists and taxis.
Beneath the 19th-century arcades, the renowned Parisian pastry shop, Mado, continues to attract tourists, while nearby souvenir shops offer Eiffel Tower trinkets priced between 60 and 120 euros. The new development proposals aim to create a more pleasant and eco-friendly environment for both Parisians and visitors. The initiative seeks to improve urban living, enhance traffic flow, and boost local businesses.
Dubbed “Rivoli 2030,” this project is part of a broader effort by experts to modernize Paris’s urban infrastructure, making the city more beautiful and livable. The ambitious plan reflects a commitment to enhancing the quality of life in one of the world’s most visited cities.
