Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar has reaffirmed Islamabad’s full support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, underscoring the enduring strength of the two nations’ strategic partnership.
Dar made the remarks during a meeting with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud in Istanbul, held on the sidelines of the R-4 Ministerial Meeting, according to a statement reported by local media.
Defence Agreements in Focus
During the discussions, the two leaders highlighted the longstanding fraternal ties between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia and emphasised the significance of two key defence frameworks:
- The Strategic Mutual Defence Agreement
- The Makkah Defense Alliance
Both sides described the agreements as central pillars of their deepening security cooperation, signalling a shared intent to institutionalise defence coordination between the two countries.
Commitment to Regional Stability
The foreign ministers reiterated their shared commitment to promoting regional peace, security and stability. The meeting took place against a backdrop of heightened tensions across the wider Middle East, where diplomatic alignments and security partnerships have drawn increasing scrutiny.
Both sides reaffirmed the enduring strength of their bilateral relationship and expressed their resolve to further deepen the strategic partnership through enhanced cooperation across areas of mutual interest.

The two leaders also agreed on the importance of maintaining regular consultations at all levels, a commitment that suggests continued high-level engagement between Islamabad and Riyadh in the months ahead.
