French customs have unveiled new tobacco prices effective from September 1, 2025, following a recent increase last June. While many cigarette and rolling tobacco prices have remained stable, some cigar and cigarillo options are seeing hikes.

Notably, the Flor de Selva Botte SAL1 cigar, sold in a pack of ten, has doubled in price from 21 euros to 43 euros, marking a 105% increase. However, the majority of cigarette brands did not experience any price increase this fall.

For those interested in specific price changes, including cigars and cigarillos, more detailed information is available in a published list from mid-August.

This month also sees the introduction of several new tobacco products in France. Among these are options such as Luckies Longues (100’s) and Camel Essential No.1, each priced at 10.40 euros for a pack of 20 cigarettes. Other new entries include Marlboro Crafted XL Red and Gold (25 units priced at 14.40 euros) and News Instant Rouge (20 units priced at 11.50 euros).

While cigarette prices remain unchanged, rolling tobacco sees the addition of new references like Pueblo Classic and Blue No.1, each available in 30g packets for 14.70 euros, and Golden Virginia offered in 50g packets for 31.70 euros.

Looking ahead, the next potential price adjustment could occur on November 1, 2025, as part of the government’s ongoing strategy to combat smoking. The target is to increase the average price of a cigarette pack to 13 euros by 2027. Currently, smoking in France affects 12 million daily smokers and is responsible for 75,000 deaths annually, as per 2024 data from Santé Publique France.
