The Kingdom of Bahrain has formally lauded Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts in fostering regional stability, with its top diplomat announcing an upcoming visit to Islamabad to personally express gratitude to the country’s leadership. The development follows a high-level telephone conversation between Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar and Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani.
Strategic Dialogue on Regional Stability
According to an official statement from the Foreign Office, the two leaders engaged in comprehensive discussions regarding the evolving regional situation, specifically in the wake of the recent signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The agreement has been widely viewed as a critical step toward de-escalation.
Dr. Al Zayani extended his congratulations to Senator Dar on the successful conclusion of the MoU. He specifically highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in facilitating the understanding, expressing optimism that the agreement would serve as a catalyst for lasting peace and stability in the region.
Planned Visit to Islamabad
In a significant gesture of bilateral goodwill, the Bahraini Foreign Minister revealed his intention to travel to Pakistan in the near future. The primary purpose of the visit is to thank the Pakistani leadership in person for their instrumental role in securing the ceasefire.
Dr. Al Zayani stated that during his visit, he plans to hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, and the Chief of Defence Staff. The discussions are expected to focus on the collective efforts that contributed to the diplomatic breakthrough.
