Islamabad: During a meeting with US Chargé d’Affaires Natalie Baker, Pakistani Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi expressed optimism on Saturday about the strengthening of Pakistan-US relations during President Donald Trump’s tenure. Minister Naqvi emphasized the crucial role of US support in enhancing the capabilities of Pakistan’s law enforcement agencies.
The meeting involved in-depth discussions on Pakistan-US relations, mutual interests, and ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. Minister Naqvi highlighted his recent visit to the United States, where he engaged in productive meetings with members of the US Congress. These meetings focused on developing a joint strategy to combat terrorism and further solidifying bilateral relations.
Minister Naqvi stated that terrorism is a global issue, urging the international community to collaborate in tackling it. He reminded that Pakistan and the United States have enjoyed a robust relationship spanning several decades. During the meeting, the Minister also extended an invitation to Baker to attend the upcoming Spring Festival in Islamabad, underscoring the cultural ties between the two nations.
