Security forces killed five terrorists and wounded several others during a targeted intelligence-based operation in the Kale Suran area of Panjgur district, Balochistan, security sources confirmed on Thursday. The operation was conducted under the framework of Operation Radd-ul-Fitan 3, a broader campaign aimed at dismantling militant networks linked to Fitna al-Hindustan.
According to officials, the operation was launched after credible intelligence indicated that a group of militants was travelling on motorcycles to execute a major terrorist activity in the region. Using advanced surveillance technology and precision weaponry, security personnel intercepted and neutralized the threat before the militants could reach their intended target.
Weapons and Equipment Recovered
Following the engagement, forces recovered a substantial cache of modern weapons and ammunition. The haul included three vehicles, two motorcycles, an improvised explosive device (IED), and a flag belonging to a banned organisation. The recovery underscores the operational capability and logistical reach of the militant group, which authorities say has been involved in a series of violent crimes.
The slain militants were allegedly responsible for looting local residents, extortion, kidnapping for ransom, targeted killings, and planning suicide attacks across Balochistan. Security sources emphasised that the operation disrupted a planned wave of violence aimed at destabilising the province.
Interior Minister Praises Forces
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi lauded the security forces for their professional conduct and timely action. In a statement, he said the operation had prevented terrorist elements from executing plans that threatened regional peace. He noted that the successful neutralisation of the militants reflects the preparedness and commitment of state institutions to counter terrorism and maintain stability in Balochistan.
Naqvi highlighted that intelligence-based actions remain a cornerstone of efforts to disrupt terrorist networks and prevent attacks. He also commended the courage of the personnel involved, stating that their sacrifices play a key role in maintaining law and order and ensuring the safety of citizens.
Operations to Continue
Security forces have reiterated their determination to eliminate terrorism from Balochistan. Operations under Radd-ul-Fitan 3 are expected to persist until the last terrorist is eliminated. The minister added that the people of Pakistan stand united against terrorist groups and continue to support the security forces in their mission, stressing that national unity is essential in confronting threats to peace and security.
