PTI Boycotts Parliamentary Negotiations Committee Meeting Called by National Assembly Speaker

**PTI Boycotts Parliamentary Negotiations Committee Meeting Called by National Assembly…

National Assembly Speaker Ayaz Sadiq has summoned a meeting of the Parliamentary Negotiations Committee, but the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has declined to participate. According to Geo News, the meeting is scheduled for January 28 at 11:45 AM.

The government’s negotiation committee spokesperson, Irfan Siddiqui, stated that PTI was invited to the meeting but has not yet formally declined participation. He added that PTI has not provided any written communication indicating its withdrawal from the negotiation process.

On the other hand, PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has made it clear that the party will not attend the January 28 meeting. Barrister Gohar emphasized that PTI will no longer participate in any negotiation meetings. He criticized the government, stating that it passed eight laws in just 11 minutes today, ignoring the president’s objections.

The PTI’s decision to withdraw from negotiations follows its founder Imran Khan’s announcement to end talks with the government after the refusal to form a judicial commission to investigate the events of May 9. However, Barrister Gohar had previously hinted at the possibility of resuming talks, conditional upon the formation of such a commission.

PTI’s withdrawal from the negotiation process has heightened political tensions. The focus now shifts to how the government and opposition will navigate this crisis and whether a resolution can be reached to ease the growing political strain.
