Rainfall across several parts of Punjab has intensified the cold, with the Pakistan Meteorological Department warning of further showers and possible hailstorms in Islamabad, upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan.
Heavy Rain Hits Narowal and Border Areas
According to the Met Department, heavy rain lashed Narowal, Shakargarh, Kartarpur, Noorkot and adjoining areas, bringing a noticeable increase in the intensity of cold. The downpour follows earlier showers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa that have contributed to the cooling trend across the region.
Dark Clouds Over Islamabad
Dark clouds covered the federal capital from the morning, with light rain reported in some areas. The department said westerly winds were affecting the country’s upper regions, creating the possibility of further rain accompanied by strong winds in Islamabad and its surrounding areas.
Hailstorm Risk at Isolated Locations
Forecasters warned that hailstorms may occur at isolated locations, particularly in upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, where scattered rain is expected today. Most other parts of the country are likely to experience dry weather.
- Heavy rain reported in Narowal, Shakargarh, Kartarpur and Noorkot
- Light rain and overcast skies in Islamabad
- Westerly winds driving unsettled weather in upper regions
- Hailstorms possible at a few places in upper Punjab, Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan
- Dry weather expected across most of the country
Authorities have not issued any immediate warnings, but residents in the affected areas are advised to remain cautious as the cold intensifies and unstable weather persists.
