A seven-year-old boy is suspected of killing his 50-year-old aunt during the night of Thursday to Friday in Saint-Maur-des-Fossés, in the Val-de-Marne department east of Paris, according to the initial findings of the investigation.
According to early evidence gathered by investigators, the child inflicted the fatal knife wound following an argument that broke out between the two sisters.

Speaking with blood on his hands, the child reportedly said: “Yes, it’s me. I don’t want to go to prison. I don’t want you to put my mother in prison — I defended my mummy.”
The victim, identified as Nadia, was 50 years old. The circumstances surrounding the dispute that preceded the attack remain under investigation.
