In a shocking incident in the Yar Hussain area of Swabi, a man took the lives of his four young children before committing suicide. The police reported that the tragic event occurred on Thursday morning. Station House Officer (SHO) Abdul Wali stated that the police were alerted by local residents and promptly arrived at the scene. The father was found with a gunshot wound to the head, and the bodies were transported to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital by a Rescue 1122 team, as confirmed by SHO Wali.
The deceased have been identified as 42-year-old Saif-ul-Islam, along with his children: 12-year-old Zia-ul-Islam, 10-year-old Abdul Rehman, 8-year-old Sana Umar, and a two-year-old girl whose name has not yet been confirmed. SHO Wali indicated that the incident appears to have stemmed from a domestic issue, as the man’s wife was reportedly staying at her parents’ house at the time. An initial report (FIR) has been filed, and further investigations are underway.
This heartbreaking occurrence is a grim reminder of similar incidents in the country where domestic disputes have led to family tragedies. Last December, a man in Bahawalnagar killed his wife and daughter before taking his own life. Similarly, in May 2024, a man in Faisalabad’s Gulshan-e-Madina area killed his two wives and four children before committing suicide. These incidents highlight societal issues that demand urgent attention.
