Islamabad—Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has arrived in Pakistan for a two-day official visit, accompanied by a delegation of prominent Turkish business leaders. Upon his arrival at Nur Khan Airbase, President Erdogan was warmly received by President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The welcoming ceremony included a 21-gun salute, while schoolchildren in traditional attire greeted him with enthusiasm. A military band also played traditional tunes to mark the occasion.
As Erdogan’s aircraft entered Pakistani airspace, it was escorted to Islamabad by JF-17 fighter jets from the Pakistan Air Force, underscoring the significance of his visit. During his stay, President Erdogan is scheduled to hold meetings with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and President Asif Ali Zardari. A key highlight of the visit will be the co-chairing of the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting between the two nations. This visit is expected to culminate in the signing of several important agreements and memorandums of understanding, further cementing the bilateral ties between Turkey and Pakistan.
The Turkish leader’s visit underscores the deep-rooted diplomatic and economic relations between the two countries, aiming to foster greater cooperation in various sectors.
