In a dramatic turn of events, two men involved in the Raiwind brothers’ torture and murder case were reportedly killed during a police operation by the Crimes Control Department (CCD), according to the victims’ lawyer. The incident occurred following a viral video that captured the brutal assault on two brothers over a minor financial disagreement with street vendors.
Ali Ahmed Awan, the lawyer representing the victims’ father, stated that out of six individuals identified in the case, three were apprehended, including the primary suspect. Owais and Shahzad, two of the accused, were killed when, according to police reports, they attempted to attack law enforcement officers during an encounter. The remaining suspects are still at large.
The brothers were attacked while purchasing fruit on August 21 when a Rs30 disagreement led to a violent confrontation. The tragic event left one brother dead at the scene due to severe injuries, while the other passed away later from the inflicted wounds.
An initial police report was filed on August 22 at Raiwind City Police Station, citing charges of murder, rioting, and unlawful assembly under the Pakistan Penal Code. Despite the high-profile nature of the case, no formal investigation into the police encounter has been initiated thus far. The CCD continues its search for the remaining suspects while the community calls for justice in this deeply unsettling case.
