French Weather Department Issues Yellow Warnings for Eight Provinces Due to Snowfall and Ice Risks
The French meteorological department has placed eight provinces on yellow alert for the risks of snowfall and ice on February 10, 2025. Additionally, special attention needs to be given to the risks of floods. According to information released by the weather department, on February 10, 2025, eight provinces are under a yellow warning for snowfall and ice risks. While the focus was on central and southern France on Sunday, today’s situation has shifted towards the east and north.
On Sunday, the weather department issued yellow warnings for four provinces, including Mayenne, Moselle, Meurthe-et-Moselle, and Bas-Rhin. Furthermore, the Pas-de-Calais has also been added to this list. At 6 am, the weather department updated its forecasts and included three more provinces, Nord, Seine-Maritime, and Somme, in the yellow warning, bringing the total to eight provinces at risk. Warnings are also in place in other parts of the country. Nearly ten provinces are at a high risk of floods, with Somme being the only province under an orange warning for today. In total, 19 provinces are under a yellow warning as of today, including Essonne, Ariege, Charente-Maritime, Eure, Haut-Garonne, and Somme, among others.
The weather across the country is expected to be cloudy today. Rain is expected from the northern parts of the UK to Bas-Saint-Nazaire, with the possibility of snowfall in some regions. In terms of temperatures, the northern regions of France will see temperatures ranging from 0 to 4 degrees Celsius, while in the southern regions, it could reach 2 to 7 degrees. Given the intensity of this weather and its effects, the public has been advised to exercise caution.
